The Oberoi stands on the Ouarzazate road, about 20 minutes by car from the Medina, in gardens laid out around long reflecting pools and orange groves. Its architecture borrows from the great Moroccan madrasas, with carved cedar, zellige and marble courtyards, and the rooms and villas look onto the gardens; many villas have their own pool.
There are indoor and outdoor pools, a spa with hammams, a fitness centre, three restaurants and a bar, with bikes for the grounds. Guest scores are the highest of any luxury hotel in the city, and service is the reason most reviews give.
