Dar Si Said Museum
A palace of the Bahia’s builders, now the national museum of carpets and weaving.

Why go
It is a few steps from the Bahia, yet most visitors leave the area without knowing it exists.
Built by Si Said, brother of the vizier Ba Ahmed, the palace shares the Bahia’s painted ceilings and courtyards on a more intimate scale. Its collection of rugs and textiles from across Morocco is the best place to learn what to look for before buying in the souks.
Tips
- Part of the building has been under works since 2024: check it is open before you go.
- Five minutes from the Bahia Palace: an easy addition to that visit.
