Why we like it
The city’s legend, in gardens inside the walls
La Mamounia is the most famous hotel in Marrakech, a palace from the 1920s set in eight hectares of century-old gardens just inside the Medina walls at Bab Jdid. Its interiors mix Moroccan craft with Art Deco, and it has welcomed guests from Churchill to film stars for almost a hundred years.
There is a large outdoor pool in the gardens, an indoor pool and a spa with hammams, several restaurants and bars, and Jemaa el-Fna is a short walk away. It is not sold on Booking.com, so book on its own website.

Location
Medina, Marrakech

Cars reach the door
Perfectly positioned between the Medina and the Hivernage district, La Mamounia offers one of the most strategic locations in Marrakech — central, yet completely insulated from the city’s intensity.
You’re just a short walk from Jemaa el-Fnaa and the historic souks, while still enjoying immediate access to the more modern side of Marrakech with its restaurants and nightlife.
What makes the location truly unique, however, is the presence of the hotel’s vast private gardens. They act as a natural buffer, creating a rare sense of space, calm, and separation — despite being in the very heart of the city.
