Why go
Majorelle spent forty years planting cacti, palms and bamboo from five continents around his studio, painted in the blue that now bears his name. Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé bought and restored it in 1980.
The studio houses the Berber Museum, a small but excellent collection of jewellery and costume. The garden is compact: what makes or breaks the visit is the crowd.
Tips
- Book a timed ticket online and come at 8am, or after 5pm.
- Add the Berber Museum (about 230 MAD with the garden): it is the best of its kind in the city.
- The YSL Museum is next door; a combined ticket covers all three.
- Photo tip: The blue studio across the lily pond, at opening when the light is low and the paths are empty.
